My first Con

I know it's a little late, for which I apologise, but I wanted to thank Everyone I got to spend time with at D*C, even if it was only brief fleeting moments, for making not only my first con, but first time IN AMERICA, The best time of my life.

Literally.

I've been having a kinda screwed up time recently, Dragon*Con was pretty much the only thing that was keeping me from attempting stupid things more than I already had. You all made it so much more than I'd even dreamed it would be.

For that, you have my unending gratitude.

Let me say one thing. And please, do not imagine this said in a mocking or condescending tone, but .. you are young. IT GETS BETTER.

Trust me when I say that I have been down tough roads, and contemplated "stupid things".. Far too recently to be comfortable. The only reason that I am not immediately hearkening back to the fun of week's past, is that you sound like me. I've been in the places that come from having very little to "Go on" for.

All of it is in your head.

The bad times, the self hate, the doubt.

All of it created by you.

So is the enjoyment. We, the gathered forumites, didn't create happiness. We experienced it together. People are selfish, greedy and generally nasty to each other. They are also selfless, generous and giving of each other. Both types of people always exist in the world. ALWAYS. If you let the lesser of the species drain your good cheer and happiness, there WILL be someone around to replace what is lost. But you can't wait for other people. Make your own happiness. Make your own victories.

No-one is perfect. I've let other people affect me, sometimes I should practice what I preach. But I keep trying. I left this place, a while ago, because I wasn't happy. I tried moving on, still wasn't happy. Played games and came back. It was silly of me. Even people who know better can screw up and make themselves unhappy.

What I'm babbling about is that you should be happy to be *YOU*. Not glad because you get to see *US* in a year. You are a nice guy. You might not have hooked up with someone this year, but you garnered some attention. You looked pretty good in green! Keep moving forward. If your good cheer starts to wane a little, lean on your friends here and at home. We like you.

And if you even THINK you can take a short-cut.. Guess who handles the road on THAT PATH... Think yer gonna get away from me THAT easy.. dumbass??

I do have to echo Al here, it does get a HELL of alot better man. Just keep doin what you're doin, remember that haters are going to hate, so don't give a rats ass! Cons are fun, but it's the fun that you bring yourself that makes it. Also, a camelpack full of liquor never hurts either. If worse comes to worse, remember the healing power of Tip's random snuggles/gropes.
