So, our very own Falconess (Chat Room Goddess) is due to have her baby in the middle of next week. Since I'm in regular contact with her, I figured I'd start a thread to keep everyone updated on her progress!

(I'll also see if I can get her to post the photo she sent me - She is...quite pregnant.)

Having Braxton-Hicks, nearly no progression as of this week's appointment, and *really* ready for her son to make an appearance.

The crib is done, the onesies have been folded, re-folded, folded a third time, reorganized, and folded again, and the cat is trying to figure out why her belly reacts to him poking it.

Working on it now. I don't want to share them without permission, but I can say that pregnancy really suits her. She looks amazing.

I was also wrong about the due date - it's May 7th (what is it with all these May Babies in my life?), though given that she's only at 50%/1cm, she'll unlikely be ready then - we're assuming it'll be the 8th or 9th. Probably either while I'm on the tailor's pedestal having my maid of honour dress held up by pins, or while her father is flying in.

Considering that this entire pregnancy has been a series of amusing coincidences like that... yeah.

I'm half-tempted to paint Goodyear down my side, 'cause that's how I feel. I'm sorry I haven't had many pictures taken. Sam insists that I'm beautiful like this, and I'm sure there are a few men here who'll agree, but I certainly don't feel that way *laughs*

Frequent trips to the bathroom, in the middle of the night. Just when I think I'm good, I stand up, or he punches my bladder, and suddenly I have to pee again. I can barely fit through the doors. And I keep forgetting how big my belly is ('cause it didn't pop out until the last two months) and I keep hitting it with doors.

Upsides, I can still drive, technically I could still work (if the chairs weren't so uncomfortable I can't sit for 10hrs), still no nausea, and I've gained a grand total of 15lbs throughout my entire pregnancy. As far as pregnancies go, I can't really complain too much, or so I'm told, this being my first and all.

Both sisters are very excited. Sam's mother is excited...almost to the point of extreme annoyance. Sam and my mother keep staring at me like I'm going to pop any second. I think they need jobs, so they have something to do, other than stare at me. And I've had some very creative suggestions for how to induce labor. My dad will be here late on Mother's day and I've decided that if Lucian's not here by the 10th, then I want to induce on the 11th, so dad can see his first grandson, before he has to go home.

I plan avoiding an epidural (the spinal block, for those who don't know), and the episiotomy (where they cut your perineum, aka taint), if at all possible. Honestly, I have no idea if I'll be able to go through with that, but hey, it's in the birth plan. I also plan on avoiding a C-section at all costs. My OB was rather pleased, when I told her that part, which made me feel relief as well. There are so many these days who just jump straight to the c-section. Not sure why, but yeah, they do.

There will be many many many pictures of Lucian, especially after he gets here. I'm told there will be pictures during birth as well. I will avoid posting any "gaping" pictures. If any are seen of the birth, they'll be of me, prolly screaming at Sam *laughs* Speaking of pictures, here's the part I've seen so much demand for. I do have a few pictures of me, all from one of the baby showers. Here is the "blimpness"

Yeah, Harp, like my Doc said, "The shorter you are, the more you poke out, when you get pregnant." Unfortunately, like I mentioned, I didn't pop out until I was about 7mo along. On the plus side, I got hired on at work, and they still didn't know I was pregnant. I told them at about 8mo. Unfortunately I'm not working right now, but they'll take me back, when I'm ready to go back. Long, drawn out story, but that was a concern, because legally, they didn't have to. I didn't qualify for any of the laws that would make them *have* to take me back after "maternity leave" So I'm on a Leave of absence.
