Main problem with most of 'em, they start with the assumption that porn causes sex crimes, and find facts to fit their claims *shrugs* Sorta like gun control 'studies' on both sides...They pick and choose the facts they want to use FAR more than is valid, IMO

*nods* Yup, I've come accross a number of things like that. I am finding stuff on the other side of the issue though, so my paper should be pretty balanced. Cuz I'm not really supporting one side of the argument or the other, just presenting both sides of it.

I get the feeling a lot of existing sites and statements and things on that subject present the sides of the issue from so far out that if you put them together you get a bow wave and two steel walls, but no engines, hydraulics, cabins, bridge, galley or anything else that would make up an actual boat.

You'll probably have to spend a lot of time not just wading through the actual scientific papers but snorkelling in them to get anything that hasn't been tilted.

As for Creepy Carl ... one, he's quite often Uncle Carl or Aunt Carl or Dad or Mum ... and two, through a lot of "related" links I just saw a YouTube video on that subject. It's six minutes and ten seconds long. Near the start it mentions a statistic: 300,000 a year in Northern Europe. That means that, with people all around the world watching that video, on average it happens just over 3.5 times while you're watching it. Now I want to do something really unpleasant, I really really do.

I considered psych as a major...then I had a bit of a nervous breakdown during Abnormal Psych. That answered that question. Still have an incomplete for it.

I think most people would be surprised how often that happens. A lot of people start down the path of a psych major, to help understand themselves better, and sometimes it's a bit more than they can handle. One thing our Ab Psych teacher said to us was, "Now you'll notice that you have the symptoms of a lot of these disorders. We all do, in these cases, though, the symptoms are extreme." It's still pretty scary to be reading and go, "Hmm, that fits me...and that...oh, and I do that...and what about this one over here?" We did have a few students drop out of the program after that class. you're totally not alone

Heh, I wanna take Ab Psych cuz I know for a fact what disorders I have, though I have suspicions of others. My issue is that whenever we're talking about something I'm familiar with I just wanna jump up and be like "Yup! Right here!"

Whenever we get anywhere near my issues I ALWAYS jump up and say right here... then I elaborate...

Which ,come to think of it, is probably an issue in and of itself.

Well yeah but it's a bit different in a classroom where you aren't talking about your issues specifically, just an issue in general.

I can't talk about anything that's affected me unless I'm really angry/frustrated/scared/sad and people are just stupid. I just go "<insert half-assed explaination>" and when people look confused I change the subject.

Psh, I'll talk my ass off about my issues. Especially if you ask me questions and sound interested.
But I try not to most of the time cuz I hate it when people do that and they sound like they are just looking for attention and pity.
