I'm with you on the Nagant. I love mine. 1942 Finnish manufacture.
She drives 4" groups at 300 yds. My Mauser, 1915 manufacture, still hits 3" groups at 300 yds. My MKIII SMLE, 1916, manages a still respectable 4" group at 200 yds. I also dearly adore taking my Gew 88 out to the range. I have to special load the 8x57mm cartridges with black powder for it. Still holds a 10" at 500 yds. All with iron sights. I only have a scope for my SKS because the Chinese Army issued it that way. Oh I do have a scope on the 22 cal. pellet rifle I used to hunt squirrels with as well. Mmmmmmm..... tasty. Especially when stewed with tomatoes, onions and peppers.
