Meh, until he can do something which surpasses deflowering a minister's daughter in the chapel at a methodist bible camp then he's still in the minor league.

It's not the quantity of the sin ... it's the quality.

    :-D

Well, I have a list of a few things that caused several members to question their choice in religion, Ive been drunk in a mormon temple 9 out of the 10 times Ive been in one, but only a little, and cause I was there on a holiday for family reasons, so it's not like I was sloppy drunk, and then there was the fact that I dated a girl who was related to one of the upper ups in the local temple, she now drinks, has sex out of wedlock and loves her caffine, but I only caused 2 of those I promise.... And thats just the tip of the iceberg. The rest goes into a dark scary mass beneath the surface

    Sooooo much sinning.
I'm not sure you guys would even want to hear THE LIST of atrocities I have commited in the presence of or on the temple grounds of mormons.
but I enjoyed every one of them to the fullest.
    Gee mine was pretty short...

I asked questions that caused others to question their faith....

Seems to be more then enough to get one kicked out of mormon-dom. Though we do have a mormon member that is pretty cool... though I really doubt he's a die hard mormon

Heh. I agree with Al, using any of us in a comic is a source of bragging rights. I've had some of my phrases used by Jennie in her on-line world. And I had an ex-girlfriend (well, kinda/sorta girlfriend) use me in two stories that were published in Penthouse Forum. Those are two of my high-points in effecting the on-line gestalt mind.

If you want of flavor of what I'm really like (mentally and physically), try here, here, and here.

    BD and sunshine

I was asked in a PM what a BD is, but I'm replying in-thread as it may be a Europeanism.

In England (well this bit at least), both "comic" and "cartoon" tend to elicit the response, "oh, for kids?" "Adult comic" gets you a "what kind of pervert is this guy?" look. "Graphic Novel" is better, but I'm not writing a novel. BD is the abbreviation of French "Bande Dessinée" and is pronounced bédé, and just means a strip of images - so it's neutral, and is the term I prefer.

I was just looking at For Better of For Worse for some drawing tips, and Lynn reckons that each strip takes nearly eight woman-hours. I think she's right. At this rate, I'll have ten strips built up in about time for my first Zimmer frame. Sigh.

Ironic that having asked for clarification of US-isms like Xanas and pop rocks, one of my first posts is about a Euro-anglicism.

Oh and the sunshine. We finally got some! So I've been buzzing around the sky - no drawing done.

I used to have a few of myself in an online comic called WTF Vikings day off but the sites gone and I dont have any saved
Hey, if you want to draw people "true to life" then why not get the people your going to include to post some photos? I like to foce people to look at my ugly mug > and im on myspace so its not like I fear having pics of me in public with my name attatched, Im so offensive people would know who I was anyways!

Jennie has seen you (well some of you), I've only seen your avatars. I'd feel uncomfortable about drawing someone who I'd never met into a strip just to use his or her words. Jennie and Karen both draw people and places pretty true to life. I think that's a good rule. All visual media involve the "willing suspension of disbelief" that allows pictures on a page to temporarily be a substitute for reality.

The only way I'd draw someone I hadn't met would be in a stereotyped talking heads situation, to maintain dialogue between frames where things happen. E.g.,

    Frame 1: Urban scene
Generic female (rear 3/4 view): Oh Crazeyal! I never thought I'd see you again
(tears trousers off Crazeyal, elderly spinsters look on)
Bubble 1: WTF? (appropriate facial distress)

    Frame 2: Same
Generic female (same pose) : At the con: BOLD: oh you promised! (tears) (reaches toward exposed underwear)
    Background: gathering police cars

Frame 3: Big smiles all round (generic female revealed as Jennie): all face camera: yes, he's still wearing the princess button next to the skin!

Obviously, that would be fanart *between* Jennie episodes, but until I've written a single frame, that's all I *can* pre-suppose, right?

Bright Idea: I know Jennie doesn't smoke, but how about if I put up a DevilJennie pic, pretty much the way she draws DevilJennie, with a Punch Mini on a loooong cigar holder?

    Plus ca change, etc.

Would anyone mind if I made a short (maybe 12 frame) BD about this thread? It just fits so perfectly into the philosophy of "plus ca change, plus c'est le meme chose" (rough English translations - "the more things change, the more they become the same" or, ever rougher. "history repeats itself".

The answer in my case is "of course. In the 70s, your concern was the social norms of your society, not the artificial laws of a nanny state".

The social norm I was most concerned about was my girlie's father, who was a crack shot at both pistol and rifle. He thought I was OK, and that was all that mattered. (The reasons *why* would take a much longer post, but have to do with adolescent white girls in a Muslim country needing a male guardian at all times.)

A lot of my BD ideas have been triggered by reading Jennie. The society she describes seems a lot more closed, paranoiac, and nannied than the one I grew up in. I want to remind people of the freedoms they ought to continue to enjoy.

The recent "lock the doors and don't stop for red lights" one is just one example.

I hope this isn't too political, or infringing on Jennie's rights over all ideas from what is, after all, *her* forum...

I've done 4 so far, but none inked yet. This is because I prefer drawing to inking. It gets all over my hands (I'm left handed).
