I live about as far north of Houston as you do south. Thats 2 of us. Thats enough for a convention. Lets do it and invite Jennie.

Cold doesn't really bother me. It's just that I tend to remain cold after being in the cold, and warm after being in high heat. A lot.

Which is funny when half an hour out of freezing weather, you shake hands and people act like you hit them with a joy buzzer. Or slipped an ice cube in your palm. ^^

It's not the cold that bothers me so much (again, I run a bit warmer than the norm) it's the friggin' wind! That's where the wind chill factor comes in. I was at a craft show on Saturday and it didn't hit above 40 degrees. That didn't bother me or my companions too much (except the wife, she's perpetually cold) but the wind did us in. And it was a "lazy wind" - couldn't be bothered to go around us, no, it had to go right through us.

yeah the wet cold is no fun
it seems to rain a lot here and yesterday was cold... felt freezing when i was on my scooter but that is different lol

                right now it is 37*f / 3*c
                with a high of 43*f / 6*c
                low tonight of 35*f / 2*c

                it is also noon
the odd thing about that is we are still warming up and will cool down later on

back in the states i was used to the hottest times being 11am to 2pm
but you could reach your high temp earlier in the day and stay there for most of the day

here it is like you stay morning temps till late afternoon, have a warm spell and go into evening temps

when I was a kid, cold never bothered me. I'd run around in the snow barefeet, jeans and t-shirt. Then I joined the Navy...

HAving to where shoes in a damp environment all the time I lost the calluses on my feet, now I have a hard time walking on pavement barefoot.

As far as raw cold otherwise I freaked out the models at a photoshoot a couple years ago because I was humping equipment around for some of the other people (if you can't carry your own gear you don't need it...) so I built up a bit of heat, and running around without a coat in mid teen degree weather.

te heeee humping equipment... ok i admit that stopped my brain a sec and i giggled

i agree about the camera stuff.... if you can't carry it ....
but i also disagree.... cause a warmed up sehson would be great to cuddle while the weather is in the teens... could help the photoshoot a lot lol

It helped a couple of models cause the photo shoot was for rubber clothing...

Yes vulcanized rubber not latex, two of the models were in pencil skirts, I had to carry them from point to point more then once because the ground was un-even and well the cold made their outfits a bit stiff to walk.

I joked with the models that was probably the only way they would let me grab their ass, and them not be offended...They were both flattered and amused

All my friends tell me they have to "bundle up" to come over to my place in the winter. I keep it around 60-65. I tell em what my Grandfather used to tell us.

"If your feet are cold, put a hat on."

One thing I hate about going out to anyplace during the winter is that people crank up the heat. Walking into a store or home where your nose hairs dry up as soon as you go in is terrible.

If I'm at home I'm usually in a T shirt and shorts. Or if it's evening and folks are over some loungeing PJs. My parents gave me some Crocs slippers last year for Christmas and they are the most comfortable things EVER!

I can tolerate the cold well enough, I just don't like to. I'm no stick, yet it still gets to me pretty bad. I like to wear layers. Tanktop, t-shirt, other shirt over that. My guy friends have made a hobby of saying "Take off your shirt!" and seeing how many layers I have on for that day.

Yes, that's definitely the reason they want you to remove items of clothing. Yes, let's keep that belief.

it drops below 50 (F) and i'm getting my winter coat...below 40 and then its the hat, gloves and scarf. below freezing...i dont leave the house if i dont have to. but i'm fine and comfortable in the heat until about 95 F, as long as humidity is below 80%.

then again its probably all due to the fact that my average body temp is more around 97-97.8- opposite of what all the grizzly bears of guys we have here
