I was just talking to someone on Saturday at my sister's archery practice. Her friend is a heavy fighter in the SCA, so she gets bruises and various such injuries. So her coworkers started leaving anonymous notes on her car windshield with tips and stuff for abusive situation. She was both touched and amused by their concern. I don't remember if the person said she explained or not.

So I've just taken to screaming out and crying "HE DOESN'T KNOW HE HURTS ME! REALLY HE LOVES ME!"

Or I'll point to my friend Bryce and say "He's abusive! He beats me all the time!" and he'll nod and go "Yep. And she deserves it!" (This is actually partially true, because he is clumsy as well, but always manages to hurt me with his clumsiness instead of himself. Or when we wrestle/playfight something goes wrong and I get a bruise. Either way it's usually me that gets hurt, and not him, so we find it quite hilarious -- especially as if we were to really fight I'd kill him. I'm like twice his size.)

No one takes me seriously when I say those things. It's incredibly ironic.

Heh. All I have to worry about is avoiding the wife's elbows while she thrashes in her sleep. No black eyes (yet) but have gotten a couple of bruises over the years. Owie.

There's a lot of good things to be said about the idea of sleeping in different beds... sometimes.
