    Most, but not all human sustenance, is killed before eating. Dead proteins are easy to cook. Not every food gets prepared by heating. Some get chilled... Many seafoods are kill it, chill it, eat it.

    I've actually thought about that as well, Obby. But I've seen specimens of Hydrothermal Vent creatures (at the Smithonian's Museum of Natural History) such as crabs, shrimp, clams, and vent worms. Trust me, you wouldn't want to eat them as they look extremely unappetizing even to an omnivore like me and I grew up eating shellfish.
